Steef van Amersfoort is Regional Logistics Manager EMEA for AbbVie and Chairman of the EVO Dutch Airfreight and Express Shippers Council. As Regional Logistics Manager, Steef is responsible for logistics within EMEA and global transportation from Europe to AbbVie affiliates and customers worldwide in all modes of transportation with various temperature restriction complexities. He has broad experience and expertise in reliable and cost-effective global time and temperature-sensitive transportation solutions for the pharmaceutical industry. He is always looking for new, innovative, transparent solutions in true partnership with all stakeholders.

With a focus on costs, reliable services, delivery performance and GDP compliance, plus minimising temperature excursion risk and damage, Steef offers an extensive global air freight knowledge, in particular on time- and temperature-sensitive, reliable and cost-effective solutions using active and passive shippers. He has developed and executed unique transparent tripartite agreements between AbbVie, airlines and forwarders. He is a strong supporter and promoter of innovative, transparent, and competitive solutions for air freight handling to reduce lead-time, minimise damage risk and reduce costs. He has developed and executed a unique own controlled fuel surcharge mechanism for air freight and trucking.

As Chairman of the Dutch Airfreight and Express Shippers Council, Steef is responsible for the regular council meetings and maintaining relationships in the air freight industry with airlines; airport forwarders; ground handlers; customs, government and related organisations; and councils like the ACN and IATA. The council is promoting advanced transparent e-solution developments such e-freight , e-link, e-booking and portal solutions.
